MEDICINAL PROPERTIES: The Hopi Indians used this plant for the treatment of spider bites. Herbalists also use for treatment of gum disease and hemorrhoids.

GROWING TIPS: Easy to grow. Direct sow any time in the back of the ornamental border, along fences, or in meadows. Optimum germination is achieved in wide open spaces and with a soil moisture of 21%. As with many plants from desert climates, this one is a light dependent germinator, though it will still germinate if lightly covered. Achieve best results using reemay cloth to provide light but protect from birds during germination. Will self-seed if permitted.
