TEXAS BLUEBONNET (Lupinus texansis) is a native flower so common in Texas it is the state flower. A biennial plant, the seed has an especially hard coat that may takes a few months of natural stratification (sometimes even a few years) to break its dormancy. Once it does, it will eventually send forth the most spectacular plume of blue flowers with bits of white. Grown in a meadow, or even in a decorative border, they are exquisite!
