GARDENIA (Gardenia jasminoides) is a low-growing evergreen shrub that produces the most deliciously fragrant waxy white flowers beloved in corsages, perfumes and teas! The fruits were also revered by the ancients in Chinese medicine as an anti-toxin. I am blessed to have several gardenias which thrive here in North Carolina. They also do well as a houseplant provided they are properly cared for. 10 seeds.
GROWING TIPS: Prefers partial shade to full sun and point, rich, slightly acid soil. Direct seed in spring. This seed has a vigorous germination rate at 65 degrees and will germinate in about 45 days.
