VICTORIAN STYLE GARDEN PITCHER VASE. I had a galvanized tin pitcher of this shape for many long years until it disappeared from my garden one day. I have looked for a very long time for a replacement and finally found this charming offering. The shape is important, because it is the wide base which allows you to set it on the ground without tipping, even when it is full of water and laden with your beautiful cut flowers as you gather them. So much handier than a trug, because you can stand the flowers upright so the blossoms aren't compromised and of course they are immediately set in water giving them maximum vase time once you get them inside to arrange. Decorated with a charming 19th Century image of roses taken from a 1906 Ferry Seeds catalogue, the "water spout" stands 15" high. It has two handles, one a swing arm with wooden holder at center, and the other a sturdy grip at the base so you can direct the flow of water when emptying (waste not want not).
