DAIKON RADISH (Raphanus sativus) literally means "large root" in Japanese. It is an all-around wonderful seed for both culinary and cultivation purposes. Used as a cover crop to break up clay soils, it produces huge long white tap roots that draw on nutrients deep in the soil. But the culinary possibilities are astounding! All parts of the plant are edible and used in a variety of ways.
