Description
Fairies love to collect things and my fairies have a wonderful historic town full of treasures with which to build and decorate their houses: Very old trees that shed their bark and provide lots of twigs and nuts, lichen, green moss and reindeer moss, seed pods from the many gardens, dried flowers, and a variety of other found objects. I thought this tower was done, but my fairy had other ideas and kept decorating. This Tall Illuminated Fairy Tower measures 15" high and sits on a thick round 'barked' slice of wood measuring 7" across. With a blue glass shard window, and a sign that reads "Good Fairies Live Here," this is a special decorative which can be outside in a protected environment or inside where it can be enjoyed every day. Peek inside to see the flower fossil stairs that lead ... nowhere because we know fairies do not need stairs; a tiny golden hook for her Fine Silver Fairy Wand with a Blue Glass Flower; and a small hand-made wood table for other valuables like Pink Quartz pebbles and shells because we know fairies like to gather treasures. A fabric scrap makes a nice fringed rug, and a piece of hand-painted porcelain beautifully graces the front entrance and a piece from the same shard is now on the wall as a painting. You might also see some Fairy Dust spilled on the floor. Mosses and lichens abound outside where a large pine cone "tree" glints gold, two tiny birds nest in the roof, a golden dragonfly and other pollinators flit, and a golden blossom rests on top of the door shaft. Several Seed Pod "flowers" rest against the outside and, of course, a river stone and a tiny acorn. You will also see nestled in the green moss a hand painted white "stone" (actually a button). Pretty dried hydrangea blossoms and acorn caps grace the structure. The fairy lights can be turned on and off and the batteries (which last approximately 48 hours) can be replaced by lifting the bark covering. This is not a toy, but rather a special decoration, although a well-behaved child may enjoy wishing on it and adding some offerings for the fairy by leaving outside the door. Such gifts often make the fairy more visible to their human hosts. I am happy to add personalization with a hand painted sign at no extra charge.
