When I was a girl, my parents sent me and my younger sister to Girl Scout camp. My sister, Judy, had a ball and entered every competition, etc. I, on the other hand, was miserable. Not outgoing in new situations at all, I spent my days instead creating a village at the base of a large tree out of sticks and acorns and other found things. The counselors were largely tolerant, and one was even interested in what I was doing God bless her. This past weekend I completely relived those moments watching the fairies construct their Fairy Magical Lake Woods House using many found objects from my Fit Of Pique business -- a beautiful etched floral yellow glass for a window, a piece of Larimar for a door handle, a vintage embossed Daisy cabochon for over the door decoration. And then there was the Fireplace -- they found an old piece of cosmetic jewelry for the fish trophy, and many little semi-precious gemstones for the fireplace mantle. A piece of copper was lovingly shaped to hold firewood. Another piece of copper (an old earring) became a "mushroom" table. Fabric scraps were used on the floor and the divine divan's cushions; another scrap for curtains. The "windows" hold two views: one, a tromp l'oeil lake scene and the other a view of the woods. On the outside, the Lake Blue Front Door has an scrolled brass keyhole and hanging next to it from an acorn cap, a brass key. Mosses and licens abound on the outer walls and the roof which also has pine cone petals as shingles; a Pine Cone "tree", dressed in 14K Gold Leaf. This is a secured clearn small "tray" to hold a live plant at the back corner (A small Cedar is shown, but not included). As is true for many houses in the woods or at a body of water, it sits on logs to elevate it from critters and dampness, and magical crystal rocks surround. Two logs form the steps for the front door. There are fairy lights inside and out, managed from a battery pack on the outside back wall. Batteries can be replaced. 

 

Measurements of the Magical Lake Woods House: 5.5" H x 4.75" W x 3.75" D, not including the log risers which add 1/2 inch. The "ground" measures 9" x 8" x .75".  The fairy lights can be turned on and off and the batteries (which last approximately 48 hours) can be replaced by lifting the bark covering. This is not a toy, but rather a special decoration, although a well-behaved child may enjoy wishing on it and adding some offerings for the fairy by leaving outside the door. Such gifts often make the fairy more visible to their human hosts. I am happy to add personalization with a hand painted sign at no extra charge.

This will be very carefully packaged to prevent movement and protect it during shipping, but cannot be returned since I have no way of knowing if you would take the same measure of care in re-packaging. However, if, despite my professional packaging, damage should occur during shipping, please photo document and file a claim online with the post office.
