In the manner of true Pique Assiette, the pieces were broken or hand cut to decorate a new Italian terra cotta garden pot. The body is covered in pieces of two vintage embossed CarltonWare dishes, one green and one yellow. The rim has alternating squares of an embossed basket weave pattern from a vintage Spode Buttercup plate and small Cowry shells that I pulled from a broken vintage necklace. There is a CarltonWare backstamp as well. And an interesting vintage yellow floral glass button. The pot has been glazed so that it can be outside without discoloring or mildewing the grout and has a drainage hole. Measures 5.25"H x 6.5" across the top. I can see this beautifully displaying yellow cowslips or primroses, for example!
CherryGal's Fit Of Pique Genuine Pique Assiette Mosaics combine antique and vintage porcelains and china (including back stamps), figurines, buttons, jewelry, glass, charms, sea shells, semi-precious stones, genuine Swarovski crystals, sometimes 18K Gold and Silver Leaf Accents and often signed with an 18K Gold or Silver "Cherries" mark. The style is organic, with an archaeological effect as if washed up on a beach or dug from the earth. Each Fit Of Pique is a unique work of art.
