ANGELICA (Angelica archangelica), also known as Garden Angelica and Wild Parsnip, is the official species among the many varieites of Angelica. Legend has it that it was the Archangel Gabriel who clued we humans into its many medicinal wonders. Used since the 10th Century for culinary and medicinal purposes. It is used to flavor liquors, reindeer milk (how cool is that?). All parts of this plant are fragrant. It is a biennial that produces a 2'-6' plant by its second year with a hollow fluted stem that has traditionally been made into penny whistles, and bears a umbellical flower head in the summer and small fruits after that. 10 Seeds. MEDICINAL: Traditionally it is used to boost the immune system and modern research shows it does contain a number of chemicals with medicinal properties. Chewing on it or drinking tea of it will cause localized numbing. Anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral.
