ELECAMPANE (Inula helenium), also known as Horseheal, is a medicinal herb used since ancient time (it was a sacred herb to the Druids), mostly for all types of lung ailments, that has recently been shown to effective against the dreaded MRSA (methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus) bug, as well as a broad spectrum of other bacteria. A stout plant that grows 3-5 feet high producing myriad 2" yellow flowers, is still used in veterinary medicine, and also in the production of absinthe. Perennial. 10 seeds.
GROWING TIPS: Easy to grow, but since this is a light dependent germinator, start it indoors, pressing into growing medium and keep moist. Germination in about 2 weeks. When sturdy enough, pot up, harden off and transplant in Spring.
