LEMONGRASS (Cymbpoogon citratus) is an aromatic tropical grass. Its tangy lemon scent and flavor are essential in Thai and Vietnamese cooking where it is used for soups, curries, fish and sauces. Best used fresh, it is the enlarged leaf base used for cooking. But the leaves also make a delightful tea and the whole plant has the happy aspect of repelling mosquitos! A tender perennial which can overwinter in Zones 9-11 or which you can grow as an annual or even in a containers and brought indoors. Plant grows 2-3 feet tall with thick masses of green and yellow stems. Full sun or partial shade. You will get one well-rooted specimen in a 4" nursery pot with organic soil.
