Description
FRENCH BREAKFAST RADISH dates to 1879. Oblong blunt nosed rose-scarlet with white tip. Crisp flesh, mildly pungent flavor, top quality. Pick when small. 26 - 30 days. 50 seeds.
NUTRITION: Who would think that the radish had anything to offer other than color and snap for your salad? It is, in fact, an excellent source of fiber, Riboflavin, Vitamin B6, Calcium, Magnesium, Copper and Manganese, Vitamin C, folate and potassium (as much as bananas). A superb detoxifier with antifungal and antibacterial properties, radishes aid digestion and gently move the bowels and urine. Powerful antioxidants. High in plant sugars, though.
GROWING TIP: Soooooooooo easy! And fast! Plant with your carrots to mark the row as these pop up quickly! Plant spring or fall as they like cool weather. Containers work well too for the smaller varieties.
