AFRICAN QUEEN TOMATO (Solanum lycopersicum) dates to mid-18th Century Western North Carolina and was likely brought here originally by slaves from the Caribbean, but it is claimed as a family heirloom here in North Carolina. A large (one to two and a half pounds) pink to purple beefsteak, African Queen offers fabulous slicing with incredible balanced juicy flavor in its meaty blood red interior. Don't confuse with another beefsteak called simply African. This one is special. Highly productive. Its 5" shape is somewhat flat and the plant is potato leaf. 85 Days. 10 Seeds.
