Description
SENSATION COSMOS (Cosmos Bipinnatus) is ... well ... sensational! A delightful Mexican heirloom that is a fabulous bee attractant. Sensation dates to early 20th Century. One of the earliest blooming cosmos mixtures which gives northern gardeners a good option, the large, sturdy plants have beautiful ferny foliage and wide mixture of vibrant colors. I love to see these waving gentle in the breeze. Also a great cut flower for arrangements. Half-hardy annual, they reseed themselves, although if you want a good color mix it is best to resow every year. Grow 4-5' tall, though if they are given support they can grow MUCH higher! 50 seeds.
GROWING TIPS: Start indoors in flats 4-6 weeks before last frost. Harden off and plant in sunny position. This is a star performer, even in North Carolina's notorious drought!
